germantax.io is the English-language website of Ratisbona Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH. For questions about data protection please write to info@ratisbona-steuerberatung.de. We have not appointed an external data protection officer; enquiries reach the management directly.

This website is created and hosted using Lovable. When you visit it, Lovable and its infrastructure providers process technical data such as IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL and time of access on our behalf. This is necessary to deliver the pages securely and to defend against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in a stable, secure website). Log data is deleted or anonymised after a short period and is not merged with other data sources.

This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics tools or tracking pixels. Only technically necessary storage is used to operate the site. No consent banner is required because no non-essential data is processed. The embedded booking calendar is the only third-party element and is described below.

If you use the contact form or the new client questionnaire, we process the details you enter (for example name, email address, phone number, address, residency and family situation, tax identification number, services requested, tax years and income types, plus your free-text message). We use them to answer your enquiry and to prepare a possible engagement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — steps prior to a contract; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

Providing the data is voluntary, but without it we cannot answer your enquiry. Form submissions are delivered to us by email; the website itself does not store a copy in a database.

Transactional emails (your confirmation and our internal notification) are sent through Resend (Resend, Inc., 2261 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA) acting as a processor under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Transfers to the USA are covered by the EU standard contractual clauses. Email is not an inherently secure channel — please do not send sensitive documents by email. After the first call you receive access to a secure document portal.

The booking calendar is provided by eTermin GmbH and embedded on the booking page in a frame. When you open it, your IP address and browser data are transmitted to the provider, and the details you enter (name, email, appointment subject) are processed to arrange your appointment (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The provider acts as a processor for the appointment data.

Your data is seen only by the members of our firm who handle your case and by our IT and email service providers acting as processors under Art. 28 GDPR. We do not sell personal data and never pass it on for advertising purposes. Disclosure to tax authorities, courts or other bodies happens only within an engagement or where the law requires it.

As a German tax advisory firm we are bound by professional secrecy under § 57 StBerG and § 203 StGB. This obligation applies in addition to, and independently of, data protection law.

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted after at most 6 months. If an engagement follows, we keep the documents for the statutory retention periods under tax and commercial law — as a rule 6 to 10 years (§ 147 AO, § 257 HGB) — and delete them afterwards.

Links to YouTube, LinkedIn, ratisbona-steuerberatung.de and other external sites open in a new tab. Their operators are responsible for the processing that happens there; no data is transmitted to them before you click.

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
